The
Self is an organizing principle only, which draws Its
energies from the Higher Power. It is our core nature, or
root-consciousness from whence we've sprung. It is the
Ideal of each completed human being. C. G. Jung defined
the Higher Self, or Self, as he called It, as a central
unifying archetype around which all other archetypes are
grouped and ordered. An archetype is the ideal image of
anything we wish to create or become; according to Jung,
archetypes reside within the collective human mind. The
archetype of the Higher Self is the blueprint for all of
humanity; it's masterpiece. And It is the blueprint for
each individual as well. Many believe Jesus, the Buddha, and a few other great beings who have manifested on this planet perfectly exemplified this divine blueprint. For this reason, most of us should not expect to completely become this Self at our current stage of evolution. But we can be aware that the Higher Self represents our wholeness (or holiness). And It can therefore function as a guywire to guide us toward completion as human beings. The Higher Self is synonymous with what most people call "the soul." We experience It as an attitude of calm lightheartednessa deep sense of well being. The energy of the Higher Self can take form and live as us anytime we manifest our wholeness, even for a moment. And since Its nature is to unity, It will clothe itself around whatever identity we put on: the things we say "I am" to, we become. This is why it's so important to be careful how we use those magical words, "I am." This is how we can unconsciously become identified with a condition or a limited trait. The Higher Self is both our source and our goal. And it's important to remember this...This Higher Self is the Co-Creator par excellence! For it is by, through, and as the Self or Higher Self that we continually evolve into more expanded and integrated people. [excerpt from AWAKENING IN TIME, pg. 18] |
